Firm Land Use Attorney Les Hausrath Elected to Regional Parks Foundation Board of Directors
OAKLAND, Calif., April 22, 2016 – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the region, announces that Eminent Domain and Litigation Practice Group Chair Les Hausrath has been elected to the Regional Parks Foundation Board of Directors. The firm has long been involved with the organization, and Green Business Practice Group Chair William Acevedo concluded a term as president this year. Hausrath will serve a two-year term that began on March 24.
The Regional Parks Foundation was established in 1969 to facilitate contributions that benefit the East Bay Regional Park District. The Foundation’s mission is to support the East Bay Regional Park District through fundraising that provides broader public access, resource protection and preservation, education and recreational programs, and the acquisition of parklands. The Foundation is currently governed by a 15-member Board of Directors consisting of corporate leaders from throughout the East Bay.
“It is a tremendous honor to serve on the Regional Parks Foundation Board of Directors,” said Hausrath. “The Foundation has a rich history of protecting our beautiful park lands throughout the East Bay Area, and we will continue to provide access for all to our regional parks and to further the development and preservation of our park lands for generations to come.”
With more than 30 years of experience working on eminent domain, land use and real estate matters, Hausrath represents cities, counties, special districts and other public entities, as well as private clients throughout the state, before zoning boards and public agencies to make sure their interests are actively and thoroughly represented in public acquisitions. His practice also involves advising clients on land use, zoning, boundary, easements, title matters, and Subdivision Map Act and CEQA issues. Hausrath’s experience includes handling local sales and use tax disputes, conservation easements and historic preservation issues.
In addition to his involvement with the Regional Parks Foundation, Hausrath is a member of the Real Property Advisory Committee of the California Continuing Education of the Bar, serves on the Board of Directors of the West Oakland Commerce Association and Rebuilding Together Oakland, is chair of the Law & Ethics Committee of the SF Bay Area Chapter of the International Right of Way Association, and serves on the Projects Committee and chairs the Protection Committee of the Land Trust of Napa County. He is also general counsel to the Northern California Section of the United States Tennis Association. Hausrath earned both his J.D. (1973) and B.A. (1969) from the University of California, Berkeley.
